1) The software just errors saying something about a missing file (MSSTDFMT.DLL)...

If you have a problem with a missing 'MSSTDFMT.DLL' File please download this zip file and unzip it to your \windows\system directory. If this still doesn't work please try these steps.
1. Open a DOS PROMPT (or run "command").
2. Enter the command cd \windows\system" and press enter .
3. Enter the command regsvr32 c:\windows\system\msstdfmt.dll and press enter .

Please remember to change any drive letters or paths to the appropriate ones for your system.

2) Is there a step by step tutorial to help me?

Yes there is, www.karaokeplayground.co.uk Has a great help section which includes full step by step instructions for using CDG2AVI.

3) Does CDG2AVI Support Sound?

No it doesn't, CDG2AVI was designed to only convert the video stream, to allow you to then perform further editing on it. Merge the sound using premier or virtualdub etc.
CDG2VCD does support automatically converting the sound.

4) My Finished file wont play, media player says 'file format invalid'...

This is probably because the file is over 2gig in size, try using a better compression codec or converting at a lower frame rate.

5) What size should I use for VCD conversion?.

Optimum for PAL capture is 352*288 @ 25fps, NTSC is 352*240 @ 30fps.

6) The install program asks me to reboot to update my files but says exactly the same after I have rebooted.

Unfourtunatly this is an issue with Microsofts method of installing files which are in use. A full explanation and suggested solutions are available on the Microsoft site at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q191096%20

7) I've put my CD in but it only had CDA files, whats going on?

Our software is not designed to 'rip' Karaoke discs, Our software simply converts a .CDG along with an .MP3 or .WAV file into a MPEG stream.
http://www.karokeplayground.co.uk has some excellent tutorials on how to 'rip' CDs and supplies the tools too.

8) When running CDG2VCD it errors 'runtime error 52, bad file name or number'

This error is caused because CDG2VCD remembers the last used folder, if this folder was on a removable media and you have removed that media. it can cause problems.
This is simple to fix, download this file [regfix.reg] to a location on your computer
locate the file and double click (launch) it.
You will be asked if you wish to add this data to your registry, choose yes.
CDG2VCD should now run fine.
